Since 01.01.2013, the City of Flensburg has levied a tax of \u20ac 1.50 per overnight stay for private overnight guests; this will increase to 7.5% of the overnight price as of 1.1.2018. Business travellers can be exempted from this fee. Business travellers have the option of avoiding payment of the accommodation tax by presenting a certificate from their employer upon arrival stating that the overnight stay is for business reasons. To be exempted from the accommodation tax, we will gladly send you a form from the City of Flensburg.<\/p>\n
In the event that you are unable to provide a confirmation from your employer for the overnight stay despite having a business reason for doing so, we are obliged to charge you \u20ac 1.50\/ respectively 7.5% per overnight stay and person. However, you can have the accommodation tax paid refunded within three months by means of an informal letter to the City of Flensburg. Your employer must draft these letters and attach the invoice for the overnight stay(s).<\/p>\n
